Hannah Smith, Law Clerk
Hannah Smith is a native of Flint, Michigan and a second year student at Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law. Prior to going to law school, Hannah graduated from Michigan State University with a BA in Social Relations & Policy. Her studies focused on bioethics, public health, and the environment. Hannah served in the Michigan House of Representatives from 2015-2019 and also interned for Judge Joseph Farah at the Genesee County 7th Circuit Court. She is interested in many areas of law including health, civil rights, Title IX, and sexual and domestic violence.
Hannah enjoys volunteering at IU's Student Outreach Clinic, a non-profit student-run clinic dedicated to providing pro bono legal services to the underserved of Indianapolis. She is also a mentor in the American Bar Association's Pathways program, an initiative that creates a pipeline for underrepresented students into legal education. Hannah believes that everyone deserves to have equal opportunities for success and should be afforded equal protection under the law. She aspires to be a fearless advocate and help people find their voice to stand up against injustice.
